DJ Ryan Murphy has been bringing dancefloors to life since 1997, driven by a passion for electronic music and the powerful sense of connection it creates on the dancefloor. Over nearly three decades behind the decks, Ryan has a presence in Australia’s club and LGBTQ+ dance party scene, known for uplifting sets that drive the crowd and for timeless dancefloor anthems.

A seasoned club DJ, Ryan has held residencies at some of Sydney’s most iconic venues, including the Midnight Shift, The Imperial, and Stonewall Hotel. Across these venues, he developed a reputation for reading a crowd and building sets that move seamlessly from deep grooves through to peak-time moments.

Ryan has also played main-room sets at some of Australia’s most recognised dance events and clubs, including Sydney Mardi Gras parties, Sleazeball, Pride, Inquisition and Toybox, Home Nightclub, Arq Nightclub, The Warehouse, The Wickham and more, delivering high-energy performances designed for packed dancefloors and unforgettable nights.

One of Ryan’s longest-standing musical collaborations has been with Ruby Dance and its groundbreaking themed Trance event series. His association began in 2003 at Ruby Goes to the Beach at the Midnight Shift and has continued across numerous launch parties, classic anthem events and other Ruby Dance productions. Over more than two decades, this relationship has seen Ryan play many of the series’ most memorable nights, sharing a passion for uplifting trance and big-room dancefloor moments.

Musically versatile, Ryan is comfortable moving between driving house, funky house and progressive sounds in club environments. His signature style, however, lies in uplifting trance and big-room sets — the kind built for peak-time energy, soaring melodies and a euphoric dancefloor.

For Ryan, DJing has always been about more than simply playing. It is about creating a journey where his audience gets on the dancefloor, celebrates community, and delivers the kind of nights that stay with people long after the music fades.
